Prototype Laborer / Metal Fabricator- Direct Hire!

We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Prototype Laborer / Metal Fabricator to join a manufacturing team. This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical ability, metal fabrication experience, and the ability to work from blueprints and engineering drawings.

The successful candidate will build prototype and low-volume metal components using a variety of fabrication equipment and tools. This is a hands-on role that requires problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Work Schedule

• Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Saturdays as needed based on production requirements

Job Responsibilities

• Fabricate prototype and low-volume metal components from blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications.
• Operate air tools, power tools, and various metal fabrication equipment.
• Set up and operate press brakes, shears, drill presses, saws, grinders, and other fabrication machinery.
• Perform metal layout, fitting, drilling, grinding, forming, and general fabrication.
• Measure and inspect finished components to ensure accuracy and compliance with print specifications.
• Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop and modify prototype parts.
• Troubleshoot fabrication and forming issues and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in metal fabrication, prototype manufacturing, tool and die, model making, or a similar manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and dimensional specifications.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC press brakes.
• Experience programming and operating an Amada HRB 1303 press brake is highly preferred.
• MIG and/or TIG welding experience is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and build one-off or low-volume components.
• Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, squares, and tape measures.

We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on fabrication, understands how to work from a print, and can take a project from concept to finished component. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a prototype manufacturing environment.
